head_arrow.gifYOUR FIRST CONSULTATION

On your first appointment a full case history will be undertaken. You will be asked questions about your general health, past medical history and any current medication you are taking. This allows the osteopath to build up a holistic picture of you, looking not only at your symptoms but also other factors such as your lifestyle.

You will be asked to undress down to your underwear and gowns are available for those who wish to wear them. The osteopath will carry out a consultation, evaluating your posture, spine and joints. Other tests, such as taking your blood pressure or reflexes will be performed if appropriate.

The osteopath will then discuss their findings with you, so you fully understand the diagnosis. If appropriate, you will also receive a treatment on your first visit. You will also be given an indication of how many further treatments you will need.
